Alpine SWR-1242D SWR-1222D New Type R 12″ Subwoofers
Alpine car subwoofer reviews. Alpine new type R subwoofers are really something to listen too. I was with my cousin Eric picking out new subwoofers for his car at a local car audio shop and he decided to listen to two 12″ Alpine SWR 1222D’s in a ported box. The bass that was coming out of the enclosure was incredible. He could not wait to get them in his car to see how they sounded. We went to his house and set them up in his car and he was very impressed with the bass he got of out these two 12″ subwoofers.
Now the Alpine SWR 12″ subwoofer come two different ways. The SWR 1222D is a dual voice coil and is 2 ohms and the SWR 1242D is dual voice and is 4 ohms. Both of these subs can hold 500 watts RMS and 1500 Peak watts, so they are capable of putting out some serious bass. The only different between these two subs other than the ohms is that the 122D can play a frequency of 23hz-500hz and the 1242D a frequency of 25hz-500hz.
