Alpine SPX-107R 4″ Speaker Review
Alpine car speaker reviews. A friend of mine came to me recently about getting some 4″ speakers for her car. Price was not really a option for him he just wanted to get a loud pair of component speakers. Of course my first suggestion was to cut out the door panels to either 5-1/4 or 6-1/4 but he did not want to make the modification to his car. So we went to our local car audio dealer to look around and listen to a few of the 4″ speakers. He set his eyes on the Alpine SPX-107R’s. I was not to surprised because he is a big alpine fanatic.
After listening to the speakers for a little while i was surprised at the sound they could put out. Now keep in mind they are now the loudest component speakers but considering that they were only 4″ i was really impressed.
Just a couple of things to keep in mind if you are considering getting these speakers for your self. The RMS rating is only 40 watts, so watch how much power you are putting to them so you don’t plow the speakers. The 1″ tweeter does produce very nice highs considering the low RMS. The down side to this speaker is definitely the lack of mid bass, but that could be expected from the Alpine SPX-107R’s 4″ driver. If this would have been my car i would have cut out the door panels to take a larger speaker, but if you are looking for a 4″ component set definitly look in to the Alpine SPX-107R 4″ Component Speakers System.
